Updated Bill Of Materials doesn't update Contract

Hi Gurus,

Here is a problem that is driving my client crazy.

I have a bill of material that links a material A to a material B. Now the number of units that matches one material to the other has been changed but the cotracts that had been already created do not get updated according to the updated BOM.

Does anybody know if there is a Report that runs un update on BOM data on contracts?

Or maybe there is a way, I dont know, to update the "Commponent quantity" field on contracts through MASS transaction...

Good appreciate in help. Thanks in advance.

Cheers

Hello ChicheESP

Firstly the BOM explosion date is the order entry date for Sales BOMs and material availability date of the request schedule line for BOMs with configuration. See the OSS note below:

So you need to see if the BOM Master data change validity starts before or after the BOM. That's the first point. In fact SAP advises not to change master data.

I think you need Engineering Change Management (ECH) to work effectively with mass processing.

I am not sure if there is a Mass transaction for , but you may try CS20- Not sure if it works for sales documents. CSK1 is another but it is only for one document, may be you can copy and change it to work with multiple documents.

Hope this helps.
