Software component version

Hi,

I want to build a synchronous interface between a 3rd party system and SAP, 3rd party< ->PI< -->SAP, what are the tasks SAP BASIS needs to create for this in SLD like software component version, does the 3rd party needs to be a business system or business service?what is the naming convention for software component version?

Thanks

    Hi,

Business System : It is registered in SLD, We should have all the technical details to register it in the SLD, A business system is something that physically exists. generally for R/3 applications we use this one.

Business Service : When we don't have all the technical details then we use the business service, it is mostly used for B2B scenarios.

Performance wise there is no difference.

If we know all the technical details then only we can create Business System at SLD, without knowing all the details we can't, thats why we can create the business service in the ID.

    Thanks,

    Hi.

Please explain what sort of scenario are you working on. Is that something like SOAP to RFC? Find some links below to get some idea on worknig with Synchronous Scenarios.

What are the Steps to do Synchronous scenarios?

To create Sofware Component Version, you should have some product in sld.

Use the product and under that create SCV (if product is not there than create new)

      Step to create SCV

Click on software component in SLD

      Click on New button

You will options either create from existing one or create new. select new and click next

now you have to select the Product version. when you select the product than automatically ur unit and vendor will be filled.

Now write any name of the software eg TESTComponent

      its version eg 1

product state by default is released. Than click finish

After that you can add technical systems in tab Installed systems

      Hope this helps

      Regards,

      Shradha
