    Dear,

SPROProductionMaterial--Requirement Planning --Plant parametersà carryout over all

    maintenance of plant parameters

Maintain the configuration for that plant like configure MRP controller

    specific to a plant.

Then Same MRP controller has to be maintained in the material master

    MRP1 view.

Then Define the schdule margine key and assign same in MRP 2 view.

Also define the Special Procurement Key for that plant as per the requirement.Like

Transfer requirements from one plant to another plant.

Make material issue from another plant

    .

When the material is to be stock transferred from anotherplant, maintain the special procurement key in MRP2 view of

    the material master.

Also mainatain the MRP Plant Parameter --Conversion defien your process order type here. Also define Number Range.

SPROProductionMaterial Requirement Planning-- Planning file entries

Activate MRP and setup planning file entries.

Active the MRP for plant in OMDU.

These are the required setting of MRP for new plant.

    Hope it will help you.

      1) Activate MRP (OMDU) for your plant

      2) Maintain plant parameters in customizing

      3) Maintain checking group and MRP controllers

      4) In MRP views in material master

Enter MRP controller, Lot sizing procedure, planning time fence if needed etc along with strategy group and other required entries

With this you are good for MRP...Just make sure that materials have planning file entries in MD20/MD21

    Dear Prerna,

Before implementing SAP - MRP (Materials Requirement Planning), we need to consider several factors, few of which I am mentioning below :

    1. Nature of the Industry - for example Discrete , Repetitive etc.,

    2. Planning - Make to Stock, Make to Order etc., based on which requirement types and planning strategy has to be defined.

    3. Type of Procurement - Manufactured versus Procured / sub contracted from external source

    4. Integration with 3rd party system (if any exists)

    5. Master data requirements - Material Master, BOM, Routings, Work Center etc.,

    6. Demand Planning , Forecasting requirements.

Many more factors need to be considered for which a detailed study needs to be conducted and documented.

    Hope this helps.

    With Best Regards

    Srinivas
