BO CME service listening on port 1248

There is a Business Objects process (CME) that is listening on port 1248 of our Windows 2003 server. We have networking monitoring software (Nagios) that also listens on this port. This is obviously causing contention. Is there a way to change the port that BO is listening on?

    Hi,

I assume it is CMS service, by-default BOE servers take dynamic ports once started. You can avoid this by assigning the BOE servers static ports.

CMC - Servers - Select each Server Property - provide the required port in Request port text box and uncheck auto assign.

    Regards,

    Ramu.
