Problem while using UPDATE syntax

Hi All,

I created a work area and inernal table of structure T001B. I have only valid entries in my internal table.

When I use

UPDATE t001b FROM TABLE it_t001b

the sy-subrc is swet to 4, but when I loop through the internal table and update it from work area it's updating the table ie. belo one is working,

LOOP AT it_t001b INTO wa_t001b.
  UPDATE t001b FROM wa_t001b.
ENDLOOP.

Could you please explain me why am I not able to update using table and what is the way to do it?

Regards,

Manoj Kumar

    Hi,

    deleted.

    Regards, Dieter

I think it's better what Immanuel has mentioned.

    Take SPRO to update T001B.

    Regards, Dieter

    Hi Manoj,

The best way is not to update the table T001B through your program. It is dangerous. If you update a standard table then it may lead to data inconsistencies.

    Regards,

    Immanuel.
