Project stock components in a production order

Former Member

Hi Gurus,

can anyone help. We have the following situation. Raise Purchase orders for components with reference to a WBS. We then raise Production orders which contain this component without reference to the WBS element. So MRP tries to order twice as much stock as it does not consider the project stock for plant stock.

This all makes sense to me so I need to solve this problem either by updating the PO component reservation to reference the WBS element or allow MRP to consider the project stock in its calculation.

Does anyone know how I can do either of the above?

Ben

Hiya,

This makes more sense - however my system is not!! When I assign 2 to the component after hitting enter it dissapears?? Very random. Is there something else I need to be entering at the same time? I have checked OSS and have implemented one note but that did not fix it?

Whats Your Order type of the production order, Is it same as relevant to WBS created Before?, IF Yes You can change

Hi,

The indicator will be valid if the parent and child are planned in individual segment. System will not allow you to specify 2 in the column which you're looking at when it is collectively planned.

As mentioned earlier, it is better to review & fix the business process & not to change the system to suit an incorrect business practise.

Vivek

Hiya,

Thank you for taking the time to help. I agree that the buisness requirement has a conflict in it.

Is there any way to assign the requirement (generated from the production order) to the WBS element? I notice that this can be done at the header level of the order but I only need some of the components to be allocated to the WBS element??

Kind regards

Ben

IN component Overview of the production order assign the special stock indicator as 2- Project stock. for the particular material

for header a material: you can assign the Production WBS element in Production order assignment tab.

IF you didn't issued any component to production order then set the status as TECO, Definitely there should be requirement for header material as Project,

Run a MRP

You can get the the Project relevant MRP run, IF the THE WBS element is Related to production , Then IT won;t create another PR for raw material, If the WBS element is different from Production WBS, system will create a PR for that material.

Then delete the MRP PR, Once the material is Received from the PO for other WBS element, transfer the material from One WBS element to prodn WBS element

Hiya,

Unfortunately we need to keep the Q flag on the PO so that the difference between standard price and PO price goes to the WBS element.

Is there no way to look at both project and 'non-project' stock as the overall stock situation?

Kind regards

Hi,

Replace indicator Q with P, it should address both your logistical n financial needs.

Please ignore the above input, the logistical need cannot be met with the above. You will have to make a choice either you want to go with project stock or with anonymous. The very idea of Project inventory segment is defeated by your business need.

So kindly revist your business process.

Hi everyone - thank you for answering so quickly. I have already set the MRP4 coll indicator to 2 but it still does not meet my businesses requirements. The best way to explain my issue is if I show how MD04 currently shows the situation

Stock 10

Ordres 20 -

Purreq 10

Projst 0

POitem 10 (exception message 20 - so system does not think we need the PO)

If I delete the Purreq then MRP just creates it again. The production order does not reference the WBS element (however if anyone knows how to link individual order components then that would probably solve my issue as well)

My requirement would be for the 10 pieces coming on the PO to be available for the production order.

I can not do this as a transfer posting as it is too late in the process. A TP would only be once the stock is booked in.

Is there some setting I need to be looking at in the MRP group I need to be looking at?

Also what also confuses me is that if I raise a 222 movement reservation with reference to the WBS element it still does not consume the PO even if it is the same WBS element.

THis is a real head scratcher!!

Hi,

2 steps:

1. Open the PO in edit more, remove the Q indicator from the account assignment column & save the PO.

2. Run MRP, system will remove the PR (if it is firmed, then delete it manually) & the PO will supply the balance 10 qty.

Dear,

As Mr. Vivek has given you the solution already, your current PO happens account assigned to project so why that system is not giving you the exact result.

You just remove the firming indicator of purchase requisition then run the MRP with planning mode deleted and recreated.

If you want you can do the reservation for that stock and then do the transfer posting. MB1B with 412Q you can transfer several goods at once to one WBS, using MIGO you can transfer several goods to different WBS.

Hope it will solve your issue.

Check existing stock is allocated to other WBS or not ? in MB25

IF yes, If you don't need the reservation for that WBS, then

Use 309 Q in MB1B to transfer the stock from old WBS to New WBS

and then run a MRP

IF the Prodn ORder is exist with out WBS,

then set the status as TECO, So that the reqmt for the dependent material will be deleted , and then Run a MRP

Hope you have maintained, Individual indicator in MRP 4 view

Hi,

Before proceeding to make changes, first identify whether this part is to be managed in project stock or in anonymous segment. If it is to be managed as project stock, then in MRP-4 view for Indiv. Coll indicator specify value 1

If it is to be managed as anonymous stock, then as mentioned by Mr. Bramhankar, specify the value as 2.

Once the above is done, MRP will take care of the rest with regards to demand & supply being in the same segment.

Dear,

Standard SAP MRP will not consider the project stock Q

Try changing the Material Master MRP4 , Bom Explosion/dep rqments Individual collective MARC-SBDKZ to "2" collective requirements only.

After that you need to do the transfer posting from unrestricted to project stock.
