to set up Connection between ECC and SCM

I have both ECC 6 and SCM running... I wanted to learn APO. I heard the next step is to set up CIF to connect ECC and SCM... how should I proceed? Thanks.

    Hi,

For the communication to work in btw ERP & SCM you obviously need RFC's from each other. Then at a further granular level you will have to define qRFC queues & register them (SMQ1, SMQ2, SMQR & SMQS).

Then CIF'ing is a bigger picture which definitely utilizes these queues but queues are just one part of it. There are a lot of functional configuration needed from the SCM/APO functional guys to CIF the data (both master & transactional data) from ERP to SCM such as creation of integration models, activation of integration models, etc.

For a further overview & best practice recommendations use the "Manage APO Core Interface in SAP APO (3.x) / mySAP SCM (4.x, 5.0)" bp guide, download it from here:

    - Regards, Dibya
