can't access CMC and infoview on BO edge series 3.1

Hello gurus,

I have just installed BO edge series 3.1, immediate moment after installation, I can open CMC console, but after I 've done other operation on the computor, CMC can't open now, also I can't open infoview, error shows " can't establish connection to server", but other features work well. how can I resolve this issue?

Did you use the express installation type?

What kind of OS did you install BO on?

Hi,

I will clarify following facts:

(1) I used "typical installation " for Edge3.1

(2) all are installed on windows XP

(3) I have restarted computor several time, CMC and infoview can't be launched either.

(4) other features work very well.

(5) after I installed Edge 3.1, CMC and infoview were reached for one time, after that, I installed crystal report 2008, this report designer can't be started, so unstalled it. then try to access CMC and infovew, it failed.

You should install the BO Edge 3.1 server on WIndows Server (2003 or 2008) and NOT on WIndows XP.

Windows XP is not supported and there is no garantee that you can get this working again (even if it worked temporarily).

I reinstall my windows 2003, post installed sql server 2005/BO edge series 3.1/crystal report 2008, then I tried to access CMC and infoview, it works, but after I restarted computor, I can't access CMC/infoview. please give some suggestion about that.

What's the error you get and what's the exact link you use to access the INfoView?

Can you check if the cms.exe is running?

Take a restart of your computer and try to access CMC/Infoview.

If you face any issues, post exact error message here, which help us a lot.
