For the beginning, use the standard promotions (my proposal). You can create new promotions, based on the SAP standard (copy).
1. Check the condition used for sales deals: IMG > SD > Basic functions > Pricing > Pricing agreements > Set up sales deals > Assign Condition Types and check the condition types assigned to yours sales deal. E.g. for standard sales deal the following conditions group and conditions types are assigned:
0020 Sales Deal 1 K020 Price Group 20 Division/Price Group
0020 Sales Deal 2 K007 Customer Discount 307 Customer with Release Status
0020 Sales Deal 3 KA00 Sales deal 305 Customer/material with release status
0020 Sales Deal 4 PR00 Price 304 Material with release status
0020 Sales Deal 5 PR00 Price 305 Customer/material with release status
2. Assign the conditions types (previous step) to your pricing procedure IMG > SD > Basic functions > Pricing > Pricing Control > Define And Assign Pricing Procedures.
3. Make all accounting assignments, if necessary IMG > SD > Basic functions > Account Assignment/Costing > Revenue Account Determination
4. Create a sales deal (promotion could be useful but is not mandatory) and test it.

Hello,
First, read this documentation: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp60_sp/helpdata/en/93/743401546011d1a7020000e829fd11/frameset.htm
Standard SAP is to use transaction VB21 and VB31 (the first is the most important). Use or copy the standard conditions.
It's work ok.
You can use fields from client master data to set the promotion relevancy (donu2019t forget to change the condition tables).
The condition used in VB21 are usual conditions.
If you need additional support please let me know!
