CCMS alerts configuration

Hi,

We have setup EWA on all satellite systems in SOLMAN. But we would like to get email alerts on cpu, memory, disk space, and backup status. We are thinking to configure CCMS alerts. We have couple of questions on the alerts

1) is there any facility in the system monitoring to send email alerts on cpu, memory usage?

2) Can we configure CCMS alerts centrally on the SOLMAN for all satellite systems?

Can any body share their thoughts?

Hi Kris,

It is absolutely possible to receive email alerts as per your requirements.

The alerts are based on the CCMS architecture of the satellite systems but can be configured centrally.

To do this I suggest you use the functionality for 'Setup System Monitoring' assuming you have your pre-requisites configured. By this I mean the system landscape, the RFCs to the systems and assigned to a solution.

To configure monitoring you can see the help on http://service.sap.com/rkt-solman or the SDN SolMan blogs.

Once setup you can define your individual alerts, and even bring in any MTEs from the CCMS architecture of each satellite system by copying them from the systems. But the monitoring elements you require are available by default in your Solution Manager anyway. Once selected, you can define alerts by setting thresholds and the autoreaction methods - copying an email template to raise the email.
