Fix Pack 3.3 Problem

Former Member
0 Kudos

I've just loaded Fix Pack 3.3 and when I attempt to open an existing Dashboard file, Excel opens and I receive the following message: "Microsoft Visual Basic File not found". I then get the following message from Xcelsius: "An error occurred while communication with Microsoft Excel. To prevent further data corruption, Xcelsius must close". I'm running Xcelsius Engage on Windows XP.

Anyone else have any ideas or experiencing similar problems?

Hi,

I am usinng Xcelcius version 4.1  support pack 1

verison 14.1.1.1036.

I am facing the same error, so are you suggesting re-installing Xcelcius is the only option?

Stratos,

I appreciate very much your help here. Since I do not see the Fix Pack 3.3 in the installed programs, it looks like I'll need to take your advice on reinstalling. Could you please confirm for me the following before I go forward:

I'll go to the Downloads page of SAP and re-download the Service Pack 3 ("Xcelsius Enterprise 2008 Service Pack 3"). I'll then uninstall Xcelsius 2008 from my PC and install the Service Pack 3 download.

Please let me know if my above is correct.

Thanks!

Stratos,

We do not have a Support Contract with SAP. Perhaps it would be easier just to roll back the FP 3.3. Do you know how I would go about doing so?

Do you see this in the list of the installed programs? If not you have to uninstall everything and install XCelsius SP3 again.

Do not forget to do a backup of dashboards stored locally.

Stratos,

Thanks for the suggestion. However, when I click on the link you provided, I'm being asked for a User Name and Password. I tried the User Name and Password I use for this Forum, but with no success...

You need a so called S user ID and password for this. Does your organization have a support contract with SAP?

Tried that, but no luck.

I would recommend to open a case by SAP support (http://service.sap.com/support).

I have Map Point, GoToMeeting and Annotator. The same add-ins that were running with the previous version.

Can you try to disabale those temporarily and see if the problem persists?

Do you have any additional add-ins installed in Excel?
