Client Copy

Dear SAP Guru,

Our queries is

Our quality(test) system is 100 GB with 25 GB free space in oracle

database.

We would like to copy the client of production which is 500 GB to

quality system.

We will user the transcation code scc9 for client copy.

Before client copy, is it required to keep 500 GB (500 GB as per test

run of production system) of space in oracle tablespace.

Please feel free to contact me if you need any further clarification.

Regards,

Hi Vijay,

Its not mandatory that it required to keep 500 GB space is production. It all depends on which profile you choose for client copy and when was the last client copy done between production and quality. In order to estimate the how much space is required, I would suggest you to do a test run of client copy which will give you required space.

After you run the test run you can analyse the space required in SCC3 log. Also make sure both production and quality systems are in same patch levels.

Hi

Thanks for your reply.

I have selected the appropriate profile and If the test run is showing 500 gb...then should i increase the tablespace of 500 GB in oracle before starting the client copy.

If you have done all your maths and thats what you need then yes... the best will be to allocate the correct amount of autoextendable datafiles in the required tablespaces so it doesn't use more space than the one needed.

Hi,

As per my knowledge, normally it will not show 500 GB. How much space requirement is shown in test run the same space need to be allocated in tablespace with some buffer space for future.
