Options for installing Crystal Reports 2008 sp1 win intl

I have been asked to package the install for CR 2008 sp1 win intl. I am new to this site and could not find install documentation that might inform us how to best deploy our CR 2008 insatll via SCCM.

Check the "Running a silent installation" section. You can run a silent installation of CR2008 Designer V1 (corresponds to SP1) using the command line. I assume that you can integrate this in your S/W distribution policy.

Thanks for the PDF, that helped and I have the install figured out now.

Two more questions,

Is there a way to kill the Check for updates?

Is there a way to unpack the SP2.exe file, whats the best way to run that. I have it running now but it seems like it's taking for ever. I have the "cr2008win_sp2.exe" downloaded now.

Use WINRAR to unpack the SP2 files from the .exe.

In order to disable the check for updates set the following registry entry to 1 (DWORD)

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 12.0\Crystal Reports\CheckForUpdates\DisableOnStartUp
