Issue : splitting the infocube into smaller cube

Dear Experts,

I am working on the early watch report

The data is loading from the dso to cube.

I need to split a cube into 4 smaller cubes(not partitioing).I am doing this bcos it is not mentioned in the early watch report.

The time characterstic is 0fiscper.

Can I load the data from dso to smaller cubes by putting the filter condition in the DTP according to 0fiscper.I want to make sure that correct data is loaded.

Please give ur suggestions.

Hi,

You can create 4 DTP's for each 4 cubes, please use the filter 0FISCPER for DTP and select the values by year sequentially , for instance:

CUBE1 (DTP 1) CUBE2 (DTP 2) CUBE3 (DTP 3) CUBE4 (DTP 4)

============ ============ ============ =============

01.2000 to 12.2000 01.2001 to 12.2001 01.2002 to 12.2002 01.2003 to 12.2003

01.2004 to 12.2004 01.2005 to 12.2005 01.2006 to 12.2006 01.2007 to 12.2007...

And also you can create a Multiprovider which will be built with these 4 cubes, in order to handle the data of these cubes by

easy way.

You may want to consider one more thing...

What happens if a record showed period as 12.2009 on day 1 and 01.2010 on day 2? It may result ininconsistencies. So you need to deicide periods whether data updates are expected for corresponding period or not

After data laoding into smaller cubes there is inconsistency in the data

i.e the data is not matching with the larger cubes

what is the reason for this?.

Hi Nidhi,

If you use the mutiprovider to select the values of the all infocubes there will be no inconsistencies.

Dear Fran,

Lets us say I have made a smaller cube for the 2008 data in which I have uploaded the data from the dso .

I am comparing a balances column for 2008 from the smaller cube to the larger cube foe the particular company code

So the data is not matching up.

Please suggest something.
