Dear All,
We are facing the problem regarding TMS. We installed our QAS system with EHP4 and kernal patch level 94. Our database is Oracle and OS is windows 2003 r2 When we register QAS in TMS and check through
SAP System --> check --> tranport tool, we get the following error:-
RFC ping Error when opening an RFC connection
Please guide in this issue.
Kind Regards
Hi,
Its aconnectivity issue , you can check in following sequence
1) Hostname of Domain controller is maintained in QAS system and vice versa
2) Domain controller hostname is pingable from QAS.
3) Check if any firewall issue for RFC connectivity (gateway Ports)

Hi,
To add new systems to a transport domain, you must perform configuration activities on both the new system and the transport domain controller by using Transaction STMS. In the new system we need to give the details of the domain controller then in domain controller we need to accept/approve the new system.
We can see the two RFC's connections in SM59
TMSADM@<SID>.<domain name>
TMSSUP@<SID>.<domain name>.
The user TMSADM is used as a system user into the TMSADM@<SID>.<domainname> destination but there is no user inserted into the TMSSUP@<SID>.<domain name> destination.
If possible give us the more detail of your issue then I can guide you in details steps to configure the transport system in your landscape.
Are you doing this from the Transport Domain Controller?
When you add a system to a transport domain, part of the process creates RFC destinations.
You should see them in SM59 with the name "TMSADM_SID.DOMAIN_SID" or similar.
Do you have one for your QAS system on your domain controller?

Hi,
Can you give us further more details like which is your domain controller system and have you addedd the quality system to your domain controller system. After adding you have to activate the same in domain controller in 000 client under STMS Tcode.
Also tell us about your landscape.
Regards,
Sharath
