EXIT for ME51N/ ME21N

Dear Experts,

In order to disable the commitment Item field on Account Assignment sub-screen tab of ME51N and ME21N, I am using ACCOBL01 Enhancement.

But I think this is for the purpose of assigning an initial value to the text field. Can the same be used for the above mentioned purpose.

Please share your knowledge. Thanks in advance.
