Crystal Reports Cross Tab Summary Adding incorrectly

Hello,

I am just playing around, learning Crystal Reports. Trying different ways to complete the same functions.

So I have created a cross-tab report that brings in a distinct count of cases. The numbers are all correct except for the total. I don't have any clue as to how the math isn't correct?

Here is a screen-shot of what the report is returning:

cross-tab-issue.jpg

The report row is the name of the program type, and the summarized field is a distinct count of the case numbers in each program.

and here are view of the cross-tab expert:

I did not create the Total field, it was automatic. I am grabbing values from a report of old data and the Distinct Counts are verified to be accurate.

If you add the numbers the cross-tab is getting the answer is: 4785

The cross-tab is showing the total as: 4660

As I stated I don't even know how to start trouble shooting this issue.

Thanks,

Ken

If a case can belong to more than one program, that would explain the difference - the Total is a distinct count of ALL of the cases, not a sum of the distinct counts within the programs.
