Hi,
My user asked me a questions about retro active postings of payroll.
An employee was in department A for Aug payroll with cost center AAAA. The payroll for Aug is posted to FI correctly. Now in Sept employee moved to dept B with cost center BBBB. The payroll for Sept is posted correctly.
Now in Oct employee is getting retro active pay increase which is effective Aug. So now when payroll posts for Oct, will it post Aug salary adjustment to Cost center AAAA or BBBB?
What is the standard practice of handling this scenario?
Thanks in advance.

If you run retro Aug arrears will post to Cost center AAAA and Sep arrears will post to Cost center BBBB.

A simple test in your development (DEV) or testing (QAT) environments would shouw you how it's going to work in your environment (according to your Country's standards and your Company's configuration).
I can tell you that in my environment, the salary variation for August would be posted to August's Cost Center, and the salary variation for September would be posted to September's Cost Centre.
