Contracts Creation message Base line date for rule 11 not

Hi,

While Creation of Contracts(VA41) ... after giving material at line item level .. i am getting small pop up message saying"

" Dates from:: Base line date for rule 11 not set" after pressing enter again i am getting one more pop up saying " Dates to:: Base line date for rule 09 not set"

Contarct type is "WV" Service and Maintainence contracts and item category determined is "WVN" and billing plan for that is "02" Periodic billing.

Need you valuable inputs

    Since you are using billing plan, you should maintain contract start date (valid-from date) in VA41. Based on this date, the system can calculate the rest of the dates for billing plan items.

    Check the settings at SPRO-> Sales and distribution- >Billing->billing plan ->Define rules for determining dates. Here the baseline date might be assigned with value 02-Contract start date.

    If this is correct, then as mentioned before, entering contract start date will resolve the issue.

      Hi Shiva Ram,

      Just I wish to thank you for your clue which was applicable to my different problem.

      I had assigned Contract Profile to Sales Document Typw QC-->Quantity Contract

      Here I had assigned start date as "First Of Current Month" not Today's Date.

      So when I was trying to create quantity contract VA$1 error message was

      "Change the activity date, the rule for determining the activity date or the basis date for this rule."

      So I changed in profile as Contract Start Date "Today's Date"

      One quick question

      Can what setting is required if I make contract in the mid-way of the month say 16 October * I wish to have contract start date as first of the current month so that such error is not appearing.

      Your valued advise shall be highly appreciated.
