dataload for VA03 in bw

i have to create custom dso and load all records i see in transaction VA03 into bw

all header and item level information

so i created custom ods into bw and everything i see in VA03 i pulled inthose characteristics into ods structure.

now in order to extract all information that were in the logistics for last month what specific steps i can do ?

q1. do i need 2lis_11,12,13 Header & Item update rules ?

so that will be 6 update rules correct ??

q2. can i just copy the structure of 0SD_C03 which is active and running in production today , and make ods out of it

q3. how can i set the init request for anything that is created since October in R3/bw infopackage

q4. how to make sure all delta records are loaded???

Do you mean you want to create new DSO similar to the structure of 0SD_C03 ? and use DS 2lis_11,12,13 Header & Item to feed DSO ?

what exactly your requirement is ? do you want to introduce DSO to the existing flow for Cube - 0SD_C03 ?

You can also check Standard DSO's (0SD_O03 / 2/ 4 ....) in BC if they suits your requirement ?

exactly the same structure as of 0SD_C03..

is there a way to copy update rules of infosources to cube 0sd_c03 to new custome ods.

You will have to be very carefull when you do this activity in production to stop deltas to cube and Initialize deltas to dso and then synchronize deltas between dso and cube. And also you will have to plan downtime for Setup tables ....

Is your existing flow 3.x or 7.x ?

You can't copy the structure of Cube to DSO while creating dso .. you will have to choose all the objects manually with reference to cube structure.

do you need all historical data in DSO ? How many years of historical data you have ?

What is the volume of data ?

Do you want to keep the data in Cube or possible to delete and reload from DSO ? what is your plan ?

Please provide all the inputs for above questions...

Keep history data into cubes

bring new data into dso

and then design multiprovider.

does this plan seems logically correct ??

You don't need Multiprovider on top of DSO and Cube together

Since you will have history on cube and get only deltas from dso =>cube

MP would be an option only on top of Cube.

not really if at any point history is needed for reference it can be queried against cube right ???

Yes, It can be done from Cube.

You have two possibilities now

1.

-Create DSO with same structure of cube and their flows

-Flush the delta queues to cube till 0/0 records

-Lock users to avoid postings

-Remove Init for cube from connected datasources

-Run Init without data transfer from dso for all of it's connected datasources

-Run delta to DSO and make validation against to tables => and run Init to cube

OR

2. Go for this 2nd option: since the volume of history is less and won't take much down time for filling setup tables

-Create DSO with same structure of cube and their flows

-Flush the delta queues to cube till 0/0 records

-Lock users to avoid postings

-Fill setup tables (prior to this delete setup tables before filling)

-Remove Init for cube from connected datasources

-Run with data transfer to dso and schedule deltas

-make validation against to tables or using RSA3

-when you sure data in dso is correct => remove data from cube

-run init from DSO => Cube

-Validate data in Cube

To do all these activities you have to pay lot of attention in quality to validate the data for Init / deltas and their aggregation in DSO and DSO=>Cube are correct.

You can discuss with business about your strategy and accordingly you can go for any of the option pointed above
