Old Tablespace PSAPPE1620 not empty

Hi Guys,

We have done an upgrade from SAP R3 4.7Ex110 to ECC6 EHP4. After upgrade we found that the old tablespace PSAPPE1620 is not empty. We can implement note 674070 to resolve the issue.we will do unicode conversion for the same system.

My query is that if the data in the old tablespace will be exported into packages and will be imported to new tablespace PSAPPE1701 and in this way we can avoid the note implementation.

Regards

Ashok Dalai

    Hi,

I think you should follow SAP recommendation as mentioned in the note to avoid any problems.

    Thanks

    Hi Ashok,

We are facing the similar situation. Did you follow the Note 674070 after upgrade?

    Thanks,

    Richa

    Hi Ashok Dalai,

Yes, when the package exported into dump (when performing UC), tables under the old tablespace - PSAPSID620 will create to the correct tablespace - PSAPSID702 and removed.

    Cheers,

    Thanks,

    Nicholas Chang.

I agree with Nicholas, if you are going for Unicode conversion after upgrade now then no need to implement that note. Thanks

    Hi,

is good to go thru Note 1292069 - Add. info. on upgrading to SAP ERP 6.0 EHP4 SR1 ABAP before starting EHP4 upgrade and this note mention that:

    +--

    < D038245 09/SEP/04 >--

Source Release Extension Set 1.10: Exchange containers

If your system was installed with SAP R/3 Enterprise Ext. Set 1.10 (based on SAP Web AS 6.20) and you are using a database that uses different containers for saving data (Oracle, Informix and DB2 UDB for UNIX and Windows), refer to note 674070 before the upgrade.

Otherwise, the exchange containers (tablespaces/dbspaces) cannot be emptied during the upgrade and cannot be deleted after the upgrade.+

Therefore, if you execute the step accordingly based on note 674070, you'll not hit this problem after upgrade.

    Cheers,

    Thanks,

    Nicholas Chang.
