Payroll area and Employee subgroup

Hi Experts

Kindly please let me know what is the relationship between Payroll area and Employee subgroup during Defaulting of wage type in IT0008.

    Hi,

    The only place where Payroll area, Employee subgroup and default wage type (in SAP terms - Wage Type Model) could get in dependence is feature LGMST. In this feature you can set up what wage types will be defaulted in IT 0008.

    However, payroll area is not part of the feature's structure. Thus payroll area has no impact on defaulting wage types in IT 0008 and not anyhow linked to it.

    Hi,

    In a large company payroll for all employees may not be run at a time. Becuse of that employees divided into different payroll areas.

    A payroll area is a group of employees whose payroll is processed together for the same period.

    Exp: Monthly/ Semi Monthly / Weekly

    you can define this in TABLE V_T549A

    You will default the payroll area to infotype 0001 not to infotype 0008,

    ABKRS : Default payroll area to infotype 0001

    I think you know the decision tree...where you will give the return value.

      Hi,

      Employees are paid differently as per there groupings like:

      1 = hourly wage earners are paid differently than 3 = Salaried employees. The ESG for PCR field in IT 0008 determines these grouping so that the, payments are paid accordingly.

      Payroll area is created based on how these groupings are paid and wage types are defaulted accordingly.
