WIP posting for network

Dear all,

we are using network orders to capture the production activites and for the settlement rule of the network, it is tied to its parent WBS number. While running result analysis, i can see wip value being calculated but when running settlement, only CO documents are generated. Can wip be posted from network and how can we do tat? Any specific sequence of tcodes to be ran or any configuration to be maintained?

Hi

You can run RA - WIP method for networks. You need to tick orders to engineer to order production in OKG2 for your default RA version. Use the status control to reverse the RA WIP calculated to get the settlement entries through OKG3 transaction.

Other settings are similar as in case of WBS RA WIP calculation.

fyi, OKG2 for engineering order has been checked, same as the transfer to the financial accounting. I did the execution of result analysis and settlement posting, but somehow, system isn't able to generate the fi document for wip even though in result analysis, i can see the calculation.

After running KKA2 then you need to do settlement. Here you can see WIP calculation. When the status is set to either TECO/ CLSD under status control in OKG3 then you have to run KKA2 one more time and then final settlement which reverses earlier RA run and posts to FI..is the same way you are doing? or missing something..

this is exactly what i doing, but somehow, it is not posting to wip. Can wip be posted via network level? It should, isn't it?

As far as my understanding only interest calculation cannot be done at network level. RA can be done at network level.

Did you set up posting rules to transfer the WIP to financials in OKG8? What is the error you are getting when you are doing final settlement? and with what status on network you are transferrring RA data to FI?

Why can't you run RA on WBS element instead of network?..I would suggest you to run settlement from network to WBS and then run RA on WBS...

Hi Praveen,

posting rules have been defined in okg8 and there no error in doing settlement. Just that when doin settlement, system only generates CO document and no wip posting is appearing. Result for running RA on network is because all our activities are being maintained there, inclusive of the internal, external processing and the required materials.

Could you try to change the RA key on to WBS element (OPSA) and try running RA for WBS element - just let us know whether you are able to see FI document? If not there is some problem with RA config. I hope you have set RA version relevant for settlement in customization..

Have you defined any settlement distribution rule for the network? If so what is the rule you have defined?

for the network, its settement distribution rule has been setted to its parent wbs element.
