Hi,

Please keep in mind that any Characteristics you define i.e. if you define more than 1 Characteristics then system will take it as a "AND" criteria and will populate the Release Strategy. if wont populate the release strategy if even 1 Characteristics value is not met.

As every response outlines "The criteria for Release to be applicable for a PR or PO is driven by Business decision , normally i have seen Client needs Release Strategy for net PO Value > certain value will different levels of release".

Hope this helps in setting up the required release strategy for your client.

Tnx

Hi,

Not such maximum level of release characteristics for PR and PO . Based on requirement , you just design the release procedure. There is limitation of maximum level of release( release code) but if more that can be achived .

No limitations for PR and PO release only the thin line difference is that PR can be released at item level or headrer level but PO only can be released at header level as PO is a commited purchaing document.

hi,

There is no compulson to insert the values while maintaining the charateristics...

You can have the value BLANK...for the basic level(as you asked above)...

charateristics are nothing but just the group of parameters based on which you wanna restrict your documents release..

and later you assign it to the class...and then maintain your release strategy...

Hi,

The fields available in communication structure CEBAN (for PR) and CEKKO (for PO) can used in any combination.

You can see that there are 4 fields (2 CHAR and 2 Numeric) in each of them that are provided in them to use for any criterion that the standard fields cannot be usd for.

You can use the user exits to popuate these fields based on your requirement.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

The major parameter for creating release characteristics for release strategy PR and PO are you shoule know the table name of PR & PO and which field name need to be selected.Alos need to know the vital components are data type, No. of Characters, single value or multiple value, any restrictions etc....... & finaly Class type to be used for release strategy .

Nothing mandatory charaterictis required. Based on requirement, you need to design the release procedure. But you can try to use header level characters of purachsing document to design the release procedure. Release characteristics can be cretaed with respective table & field. The fields are Company code, purchase organistaion,Plant, document type, purachsing group & effective value.
