Web Client Error

Former Member

Hello,

We just installed a few days ago BPC 7.5 NW but we're having problems to access thru the Web Interface, thru Planning and Consolidation Administration Client there is no problem.

The error we get is the following:

The user ID, password cannot be authenticated. Make sure you entered valid credentials.

We're trying using the same set of users that do work with the desktop client.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Salvador.

Hi Salvador,

So, your ID is working on your desktop. However, the same ID is not working on the server. Am I right? Have you tried with other user IDs? Is the client installed in the server system? Please try to delete all the temporary files from internet options, including the history and everything. Then, try again.

Hope this helps.

Hi, my ID works at my workstations and server thru the BPC client, but from the web interface (ie http://servername:8080/osoft) it's not working with the error described previously.

I've tried deleting temporary files as suggested without results.

Hi Salvador,

Is any User able to access that link?

If the answer is yes, then you need to check the task profile of your user ID.

If the answer is no, then there might be a problem in the server. Please check whether the port number is correct or not. Please try to access the link without specifying the port number.

Hope this helps.

Hello, no, not a single user works, that's why I posted this in the first way.

If I enter the server without port I get a 404 error page, the port is configured in the BPC server console.

Hi,

Please check the task profile and see whether you have the authorizations for accessing web. For the time being, you can try giving full rights to your ID, by assigning all the tasks.

If the above doesnt fix, then I feel there is a problem in the server. May be some service is not working or there might be a problem in the IIS also.

Hope this helps.

Thanks everybody.

The error was in our BPC Server's IIS config, it was set as anonymous.

Hi,

I am experiencing the same error.

When I execute diagnostics it claims that osoft directory has anonymous access enabled. If I remove this setting the

Message queue and the connection to the SAP system no longer works.

What are the correct settings here?

Cheers,

Dirk

Hi Salvador,

This could be an issue with the roles provided to the users in BPC security. I recommend reviewing the users' profiles and making sure that they have the necessary permissions for web based reporting.
