DATASOURCE ASSIGNMENT

Hi All

please suggest if we can assign 1 datasource to 2 different data targets

i have one data sorce from FI which is assigned to a cube through DTP and with direct access

i wanna assign the same data source to another infocube but not by direct DTP but through transfer rule

please sugeest

Other was would be: interconnect data source and cube via a DSO between then.

HI ,

It is not possible ,

because if you need to load the via transfer rule , you have to migrate the datasource to 3.x , in that case

you cannot create a DTP

when you migrate the datasource to 7.x , the transfer structure will be automatically deleted

You could add an Infosource between the Datasource and the second cube.

i have created an infosorce with all the required fields in comm. structure but for transfer rules i am not getting the datasource which i wanna assign

HI ,

try this go to TCODE RSDS : Provide the datasource and Source system name --> from the top menu -->

datasource--> restore 3.x datasource

once its sucessfull try again , you should get be able to select that
