BOE Web Application

We can use BOE default Web Application - Tomcat, which will be installed and run on the BOE machine.

I just wondering if any of you use external Web application - i.e IIS, instead of Tomcat?

Which one is recommended in general? Why?

Thanks for your input.

There is no Recommened from BO (Tomcat/ IIS). At the sametime, it is by default pointing to Tomcat means, indirectly suggesting.

If you opted for Java report panel, then go for Tomcat and you are familiar with Windows/Java.

If you opted for .NET report panel, then go for IIS and you are familiar with Windows & .NET framework.

I worked on both, found no much differences.

You can differentiate it, when you going to login to InfoView or CMC..

For Java: Http://<ServerName>:portno/InfoViewApp/logon.jsp (Which uses JSP script)

For .NET: Http://<ServerName>:portno/InfoViewApp/logon.asp (Uses ASP script)

    Thank You!!

You can use any of the application servers supported by BOE. You can use even IIS, provided you have .NET framework 2.0 or above installed. You also need to installl the .NET BOE components .

    Hi,

The applications supported on .Net Infoview doesnt support some of the applications supported in Java infoview for e.x. Dashboard builder is not available in .Net Infoview.

You can take a call based on what applications you need and what is supported.

    Regards,

    Ramu.
