Hello,
I'm using the redline function of ECL Viewer for originals with extension .dwg. When I create a layer through ECL Viewer, the layer is downloaded to the location from where the Original was checked in.
Example: If I upload an original for DMS from path "C:\Document DMS", when I create a layer for this original, SAP downloads the layer in the path "C:\Document DMS".
In case of the path "C:\Document DMS" does not exist in my frontend, then SAP creates a layer in the "C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\SapWorkDir".
When I display or edit some layer, then it is created in the folder that I customize in DC20 (in my case "C:\temp\").
Does a layer always need to be created in the user's machine? If yes, Is it possible that when I create a layer, this layer can be saved in the "C:\temp\"?
Should I customize something?
Best Regards,
Daniel
Hi Christoph,
In DC20 I just had customized the local folder, but it didn't work at all. Your other tip, only works when the file .dwg is not in the path where the Original was checked in first.
Example: If I upload a ".dwg" file in DMS and after this I create a redline through DMS for this ".dwg" file, then the system creates a file ".cgm" in the same folder in my machine where the original was checked. It happens, because I still have the document ".dwg" in my machine and in the same folder where I checked it first. However, if YOU create a redline, then the system creates a file ".cgm" where is customized in the SAP GUI (Alt+f12).
The system only creates the ".cgm" file in the folder customized by DC20, when I display the redline through the ECL and don't when I create.
Please, I hope there is some solution for this.
Best Regards,
Daniel

Hi Daniel,
the directory for the mentioned redlining layer depends on the settings in the SAPGUI options for local data. Please edit the
SAPGUI options (Alt+F12) and enter directory 'C:\temp' on the local data tab. Afterwards the redlining layers should be created in this directory.
Another suggestion would be making the following change the system for storing the CGM files correctly:
DC20
Type = PC; Description = Default PC; Path= c:\temp\
Best regards,
Christoph
