Best practise for restore of online backup

Hi All,

Apologies if i have asked a basic question.We want to restore the online backup which is 2 days behind.i wanted to know the best practise for restore.

brrestore -u / -b bedalhls.anf -m full

Is this enough to restore the entire DB.I wanted to know why should we use -u option.Thanks.

-u / option is for user id in this case ops$

is the backup you are restoring is online or offline? do you want to roll forward until time or just want to restore the backup.

The business did something by which the data got deleted and they want a restore of the entire system since just the tables would not be enough.After the backup has been restored should we be restoring the archive logs aslo.Thanks,

Hi,

You can restore with the command brrestore -b <backup log>.anf.

After restoring the online backup, it is must to recover the archive logs. Without recovering the archive logs ur DB will be inconsistent and hence u will not be able to bring up the DB.
