support functionality for ADR tunnelcode: how to get it?

Former Member

Hi,

There seems to be a note for supporting ADR tunnel code. The only note I can find about this topic is note 1105036. However when looking in OSS this note doesn't exist anymore.

I hardly can't find any information. I t seems that it is possible to store the information at UN-number level and DG-master (transport approval tab). Can anybody help with this item? I need more information about the solution and the necessary notes.

Regards,

Paul

Hello Paul,

The tunnel code is maintained in Transport Approval tab for the DG masterdata.

There you need to define theTransport Type and the Description of the transport type is the Tunnel Code.

Maintaining Transport type is an IMG activity: Specify Transport Types under Dangerous Goods Management -> Basic data and Master data -> Common settings.

Niraj

Hi Niraj,

Are you sure the description of the transport type is the tunnel code? Which code has to be used as the transport type in your case? I would think the transport type has to be the tunnel code.

I have a few questions left. Maybe you or someone else can help to answer them.

- there is a tab called (packaging). It also contains transport type fields. This will not be used?

- Is there a link with the tunnel code and the route in the sales document?

- Is the information printed on e.g. the delivery note?

- Is there any documentation available? I can only find a note which doesn't exist anymore.

Regards,

Paul

PS: By analyzing the print function module mentioned in a note, I discovered that the transport type has to start with a "5". Am I correct?

Hello

regarding the original question: sometimes it happens that an OSS note there you know the number can not be found any mor in the SAP marketplace. According to SAP the answer was: the correpodning change (adjustment etc.) is now part of a SP (Support package)..

To my knowledge this should be the case with the tunnel code.

Now lets come to you questions:

Are you sure the description of the transport type is the tunnel code?

I blieve this is not the case. There are these tunnel codes:

A

B

C

D

E

As normally on the road you have a number of materials packed on a truck my assumption is the route is found (if necessary) by taking account the worst case. It is clear that you need to know if there is a tunnel which you need pas on the road there a tunnel code need to be taken into account. Recently I have heard that actually not all tunnels in europe are classified.

- Is there a link with the tunnel code and the route in the sales document?

I am not so deep in DG handling so I would say : yes:

- Is the information printed on e.g. the delivery note?

In my opinon a must (that means must be orinted)

As ADR tunnel code is "old" you need to take a look which SP you have in EH&S. If you have the recent one: perfect. I have tried to find the informaton

I found this thread:

and this link:

http://www.technidata.de/Veranstaltungen/WebEx-CLEO-Update/TechniData_CLEO_Overview.pdf

So as the change is old and you have the recent SP you should be able to use the tunnel code in DG filling and on your DG documents

With best regards

C.B.

Hello Paul,

I am not sure about the Packaging tab used for Transport type. But I am working on one client system, where for Transport Approval tab, the transport type is maintained and the Description of the trasnport type is used as Tunnel Code.

Yes, the Tunnel code is printed on the delivery note.

The logic defined here is:

Pass RECN from DGTMD to table-field CCDUTTRAPPR-RECNROOT and pickup TRANSP_TYPE (Dangerous Goods Transport Type). This table stores u201CTransport Restrictionsu201D.

Use Function Module DG06_GET_DG_MOS to pick up the description of the Transport Type fetched in previous step.

Hope this information would be helpful to you.

Regards,

Niraj

Hello,

the corresponding note 1105036 should contain all information to get the Tunnel Restriction Code maintained, filled into the DG Master and eventually printed onto SD documents (I am the one who set up the specification for the Tunnel Restriction Code). As already mentioned by another colleague the key entry for the various Tunnel Restriction code should start from 500:

Customizing: Specify Transport Types

Maintain at least the English Translation Text in "Description of Transport Type". These are the necessary entries according to the DG regulation ADR:

ADR 501 (B)

ADR 502 (B1000C)

ADR 503 (B/D)

ADR 504 (B/E)

ADR 505 (C)

ADR 506 (C5000D)

ADR 507 (C/D)

ADR 508 (C/E)

ADR 509 (D)

ADR 510 (D/E)

ADR 511 (E)

The formatting method to be used is release specific, however, this is part of the note anyway:

Up to ERP 2004: 'DG50_GETSYMB_TUNNEL_RESTR_CODE

From ECC6 (ERP2005): 'DG50_GETSYMB_TUN_RESTR_CODE_60u2018

Hope this helps.

Best regards

Klaus

Hi,

The note is not available anymore. However I managed to get it going by debugging the function modules. Anyway thanks for all answers.

Hi,

I did the customization for new transport types (starting with a 5) and created a DG master for ADR with the new transport types for the tunnel restriction codes in the transport approval tab.

Because the ADR information on a delivery note is contained in a specific phrase (using text elements linked to DG-master fields) I changed the phrase by adding &RDGPRINT-TUNNEL_RESTRICTION_CODE&. However after creating the delivery note, the tunnel restriction code was not visible on the document.

Am I missing a step?

Regards,

Paul

I found the solution: the tunnel codes need to start with a 5. So you have to create e.g 501, 502,... If you create tunnel codes like 51, 52,.... SAP sees 051, 052 etc. The function module for tunnel codes skip these records.

Hi everybody,

there is a note which describes the requirements and how to configure the tunnel restriction code.

Please see the note #1105036. This should give you an answer to your questions.

Jürgen.

Hi,

I found the SDN thread already, so I checked if I could find the function module for pinting the ADR-tunnel codes. If I analyzed it correctly the transport type has to start with a 5 to be used for the tunnel codes (as mentioned in a prior response). Can anybody confirm this? There are no standard customizing settings for tunnel codes in our system. If they have to start with a 5, I think I create, 5A till 5E.

Paul
