Dear All,

User has given the Costing date from 30-09-2010, Costing date to 31.12.2010, Qty structure date 30.09.2010 and Valuation date 30.09.2010.

After that user ha done the marking successfully without errors. When he try to release on 30-09-2010, The system is showing the error is as below

"Company code 5170: period closing has not yet taken place

Message no. CK 763

Diagnosis

In company code 5170, period 10 fiscal year 2010 is still active. This

period is not the same as current period 009.

Procedure

Carry out period closing with the current period 009:

Period closing program"

When the user is trying to release on 01-10-2010, Then the system is showing the below erromessage:-

Company code 5170: Release too late

Message no. CK 156

Diagnosis

Company code 5170:

The end of period 009 is 30.09.2010. This, however, has been exceeded.

Only cost estimates from the current period can be released.

System Response

No cost estimates are released from company code 5170.

Procedure

To release cost estimates from company code 5170, you must choose the

current posting period".

The marking has been done on 30-09-2010. but we could not able to release the cost because of the above error. when we try on now it is showing the 2nd error.

SO could you please explain me how i can solve this problem.

Thanks and regards,

Mr.Rao.

Hi Rao

You are into some trouble now, but can be resolved

1. Execute CKR1, input the materials for which price was marked from CK40N... Select the radio button "Future Prices", remove test run and execute

2. Now, do CK40N again.... Do marking and release....

Note that, your costing date was 30.09.. So, you wont be able to release that cost estimate now.. When you tried to release it on 30.09, it seems one of your MM/FI period was closed for that period...

Anyways, follow the steps I mentioned above and it shall be resolved....

To download the list of materials to be inputted as per Step 1, Go to SE16 - Table MBEW... Choose Field ZPZPR on the input screen and double click on the field.. Choose "Not Equal to Blank"... And execute.. You will get list of all materials for which price is marked...

Hi Rao ,

Adding further to Ajay...

I think that CKR1 is not required as a new cost estimate marked will update the previous marked cost estimate if your OBA5 settings have not been updated to throw an error if marked cost estimate exists .

Generally , you can create a new cost estimate even if we have a marked cost estimate already exists . System will throw an warning message for the same . Please check wether CK40N is throwing an error without deleting the marked cost (CKR1).

If its not .. then just execute CK40N , mark the cost estimate ( it will overwite the previous results) and then release the same.

If its throwing an error.. then please follow steps suggested by Ajay..

Dear Ajay,

May i know that Why the user was not able to release the cost for materials. Even the period 9 is still in open. But the system is shoing the period closing has not yet taken place.

Is it possbile do the marking in 30-09-10 and releasing in 01-10-10. Or do we have to do the marking and releasing in the same day.

But i know that we can't save the standard price with the previous period.

Could you please let me clarify my doublts.

Thaks and regards,

HI Rao

period 9 might still be open... But, i guess period in MM was changed to 010.2010.... Thats the reason it did not allow you

As of now, you need to follow the steps I mentioned and close this issue

You can very well mark on 30.09 and release on 01.10.... It is very much allowed
