Hello,
I've been told that planned delivery time for an article can be maintained automatically by the system based on past delivery times, however in M. Murray's "SAP MM" there is no mention of it. Could anyone help? Many thanks in advance.
Regards,
Sergei
Hi,
In the SAP, Planned delivery time is updated automatically. We need to update this value in the vendor master record manually

Hi Sergei,
The planned delivery time in the MRP2 view of the material master represents an average value entered by user. This information will be based on the average delivery times for each vendor which supplies you the said material assuming that it is externally procured.
I agree with the fellow SAP Gurus who posted on this question that the delivery time is more of a function of the vendor that is why it is maintained in either the vendor master record or in the purchasing inforecord (for a specific vendor-material combination)
There is no standard functionality of calculating the delivery times from past purchases and updating the field in the material master view automatically. I believe that this can be customized, although I don't know ho much effort it would take. It depends on your design which the ABAPer will follow
Best regards,
DeLo
Thank you everyone for your answers.
