Dear All,
I am using Forward Scheduling Type in my Production Order and I am having the following problem:
The Work Center Capacity is defined with Capacity Category 002 - Person
I have create two Production Orders 10001 and 10002. Both are using Work Center ABC. We first create Production Order 10001 with the Basic Start Date as 2010-10-05 and the Basic Finish Date is 2010-10-07. In Transaction Code CM01 we can see the capacity requirement there.
Next we create the second Production Order 10002 and we enter the Basic Start Date as 2010-10-05 again. The SAP system carried out scheduling. The Basic Start Date is displayed as 2010-10-05 and Basic End Date is displayed as 2010-10-07 again after the scheduling. Meaning the two Production Orders have the same Basic Start Date and Basic End Date.
This is incorrect as the first Production Order 10001 should have acquired the capacity already and the Basic Start Date for the second Production Order 10002 should be on 2010-10-08.
Have anyone come across this and know the solution?
Many Thanks.
Dear
You have created two orders in same start and finish date. When you check in CM01, system will show capacity overload on that day based on available capacity. Thats why in SAP R/3 they have given the option of capacity levelling. Use the t.code CM21 to dispatch the operation of one order to another day.

Dear Jamison,
Yes
This is Std SAP R/3 Behavior
In R/3 system will only check material availability not capacity
In APO system this is possible
You need to manually do capacity leveling in R/3
