Referenced work order type cannot be Disassembly

Forum,

We have an which is a 'Buy Item' and is a BOM. When we try to issue a disassembly order for this item which involves reducing stock of by '-1' and increasing the component parts by '+1' each. However when we come to receive the disassembly order from production the following error is displayed:

"Referenced work order type cannot be Disassembly [Goods Receipt - Document Status] [Message 3559-2]"

The Production order as been entered with a type of Disassembly. When we then go into 'Receipt from Production' and try and select 'Add' it's at this stage the above error appears.

Would anyone be able to suggest anything?

Regards,

Juan

Juan,

For a disassembly order, you just need Issue for Production. Not receive it.

Thanks,

I have never disassembled non-BOM items orders. It is probably not easy for system to understand your logic. How come a non-BOM item can be disassembled? You need use some other type of transaction such as stock taking for this.
