Adding Record count Measure to CMS Universe

I have been trying to find a way to add a simple record counter to the CMS Universe that is found in BI4.2. I can build a query to get the detailed data.. but not a summary. ie. I am building simple LUMDES app to show BW use..BIP use.. and went looking a way to show Number of currently scheduled jobs. I can get the value from AdminTools using select count(SI_ID)..etc.. but building that in the universe seems to not be possible. It does not seem to understand COUNT()..So other than loading into LUMDIS first.. then adding count() measure.. then bringing the new LUMDIS data set into LUMDES.. I do not see a way. thanks for any insight here. james

The CMS DB Driver is currently not supporting count of the query language, e.g select count(SI_ID). As you mentioned, count can be implemented only with reading the data and using the count in the reporting tool (WebI, LUMDIS, …).

A solution would be the development of a CMS DB Driver plug-in table, like Access Levels can be reported since BI 4.2 SP4. This API is currently not public, we are working on a solution to make this available.
