activity not getting activated.

Hello,

I have checked in an activity. It is not getting activated. What do I do?

basically the activity does not go away from the activation view.

There is an option which says "activate even if build fails" on the activation wizard. Should I use that ?

What is the other way of activating the activity without using this advanced activation option.

    Hi,

    Is the activation throwing an error or is it taking time to activate.

    If there is an error, right click on the activity number and check the log.

    If it is taking a lot of time, you might need a restart of the server hosting your DI (not the JEE server).

    Also its a good practice to do a DC level build before you check in and activate.

    Do not use the force activation. It results in problems later.

    Hi,

    Are you getting some error during activation?

    What is the activation status in the activation view? Also check the activation log in Activation Request view through the CBS.

    try to build activity from CMS . also check for table space for dev infrastructure server. Still u facing problem then try activate even if build fails and then check for broken dcs and build these dcs. if possible send logs u r getting so tht we can help u in detail.

    Hi Mrinalini,

    first of all I believe this question belongs to the NWDI forum, see

    SAP NetWeaver Development Infrastructure (NWDI)

    please don't use the force activation. The prerequisite of activation is that the software can be built. This is a guarantee that only buildable software will be put into the active workspace, just a kind of "check to be on the safe side". You can bypass this by doing force activation, but only if you are well aware that the build will fail, and due to various other reasons you want to correct this error later. Therefore I don't suggest you to use this option.

    Instead of activating this activity, please go to the CBS webui -- "Activities" page, and look for the request ID of this acticity, or just make a simple search for activites created recently, and check its details. You'll find the log there. You need to focus on that first. If there you find an error, you need to correct it, so the activation can be finished.
