development infrastructure perspective missing in NWDS 7.1 SP06 EHP 1

Former Member

After "installing" (unzipping) the NWDS 7.1SP06 and running the Software Update (installing all the main features), I found out that the development infrastructure perspective is missing. I tried to install a few more features (internal) but no luck.

Does anybody know how to overcome this issue? I tried 7.20, there it works but I need 7.1 for the moment.

cheers

Ronny

Hi,

when you go for the "Software Updates" - "Find and Install...". There's a step where you can select of 2 radiobuttons. I don't remember the labels of them by hard, but do you take the second radiobutton? I have never faced the described phenomenon before, and I always use this way as just mentioned.

Hi Ronny,

all other NWDI specific perspectives like the DTR perspective is available, but not the Development Configuration perspective?

Can you please name the exact version you use? You find this in NWDS menu: help -- about.

I am interested mainly in the Patch level (PATXXXX).

You can find here other versions as well, you may test:

https://nwds.sap.com/swdc/downloads/updates/netweaver/nwds/ce/710/NWDS_platform.html

SP06 PAT0005

SP06 PAT0004

SP06 PAT0003

SP06 PAT0002

SP06 PAT0001

SP06 PAT0000

Thanks for the reply,

other features also seem to be missing. the only thing that's available under "Show View" is:

Devlopment Infrastructure (SAP internal)

- Configuration + Build Services Info

- Perforce Consolidation

- TRex DTR search

- TRex Perforce Search

My NWDS About says:

SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio

SAP Enhancement Package 1 for SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio 7.1 SP06 PAT0000

Build id: 201009252337

For the update, I went through:

Help > Software Updates > Find and Install

2nd RB: Search for new features to install

Update Site: http://nwdsupdate.wdf.sap.corp:57000/updatesite/ide.c42.installation-NW711_06_REL

selected EHP1 for NWDS 7.1 SP06 PAT000

(also the internal ones)

thanks for the help

Hi Ronny,

please try PAT0005. It is also 710 SP6, only the very latest version. See the link in my previous response.

When you install this version, before that please do a cleanup regarding PAT0000 in case you'd extract it in the very same folder (I assume not, but I mention it only to ensure we have a clean install).

Please let me know the outcome.

Thank you!

Just a second. I can see now it is 711 actually, not 710 (711 = EHP1 of 710).

This case please use this link for the download:

https://nwds.sap.com/swdc/downloads/updates/netweaver/nwds/nw/711/NWDS_platform.html

And here comes than my question: here I can see the latest version is 711 SP5. Where did you get SP6 from?

Ervin,

thanks a lot for your help.

Unfortunately, I cannot access this site: https://nwds.sap.com/swdc/downloads/updates/netweaver/nwds/ce/710/NWDS_platform.html

with my SAP_ALL\i# or i#

Do you know how I can get access to this site?

I tried to download the latest version here: http://nwdsupdate.wdf.sap.corp:57000/updatesite/

Shouldn't the 7.11 SP6 be newer than the 7.10 SP05?

thanks again for your help

Hi,

I understand now.

1- So the link you provided is for internal SAP users.

2- the link I've provided is for customers.

Since you use the internal link and have a SAP_ALL user, I recommend to open an Internal ticket, not an SDN forum entry.

Still, If you cannot access the link I mentioned, use the internally released SAP note: #1471454

Please close this thread,
