    Hi,

As mentioned in the log you need to give the write permissions to the directory /mnt/backup/redologPRD/PRD.

    Regards,

    Rohan.

    Hi,

cp: cannot create regular file `/mnt/backup/redologPRD/PRD/spacePRD.log': Permission denied

Please ensure that u have maintained the correct permission (777) for the file system file /mnt/backup/redologPRD/PRD/

Can you logon to your system as PRDADM and copy one dummy file to /mnt/backup/redologPRD/PRD

Also whats the output of ls -l /mnt/backup/redologPRD

      and ls -l /mnt/backup/redologPRD/PRD

    Hi,

copying the archive logs and the protocols works, but only the space_logs not ?

This suggest the the target directory permissions are fine (otherwise the other copies would fail as well).

Are there existing files with the same name from a previuos run with a strange ownership?

    ls -l /mnt/backup/redologPRD/PRD/spacePRD.log

    ls -l /mnt/backup/redologPRD/PRD/strucPRD.log

    ???

    • Well,

the good news is, that obviously the backup runs successfull.

It now just seems that the cataloging fails due to rman not being able to catalog the network file.

Question: Do you use incremental backups ?

If no, change the FULL to ALL (or in DB13 FULL tho WHOLE) -> End of problem

If yes, ... weird! no idea if it is legal to catalog "nfs"ed files.

      Volker

EDIT: Any changes to the mount options of the target filesystem?

Mind to show what a simple "mount" says about your nfs mounted target?

As weird as it may seem.... do you use the latest BR tools available?

Download the latest tools from SAP Service Marketplace and check if the error appears again.

Change the file permissions to 755 and start test backup.

Refer SAP Install guide to get an idea on recommended file perissions.
