Dear SAP Expert,
I have search in SDN Forums and found a lot discussion and blog regarding qRFC. But I am still haven't got the clear picture what is exactly the different between qRFC Outbound (SMQ1) and qRFC Inbound (SMQ2) in XI.
As far as i know all transaction between R3 --> XI (RFC and IDOC) using tRFC.
qRFC only used for internal XI processing for Asynchronous message (inbound and outbound).
any idea when is SAP XI using qRFC Outbound (SMQ1) because i saw all inbound / outbound in PI technically implemented using qRFC Inbound.
what actually the different between qRFC Outbound and qRFC Inbound ?
Thank You and Best Regards
Fernand.
Hi Fernand,
In simplest forms:
Sender side AE->Inbound queue(SMQ2)->IE->Outbound queue(SMQ1)->Receiver side AE.
Go thru these links also...

Hi Pinangshuk,
As I know base on Harld Keimer comment
Thant SAP PI Inbound and Outbound Queue Technically implemented as qRFC Inbound Queue (SMQ2), so you will see XBTI* and XBTO* in SMQ2 not in SMQ1.
Sender side AE->Inbound queue(SMQ2)->IE->Outbound queue(SMQ2)->Receiver side AE.
What i would like to know what is the function for qRFC Outbound Queue (SMQ1) in PI Integration process ? So far i only can see when I have ccBPM Implemented it will be queue to SMQ1 first before SMQ2.
Any Idea ?
Best Regards
Fernand.

Dear Fernand
SMQ1 - qRFC Monitor for the outbound queue. You use this transaction to monitor the status of the LUWs in the outbound queue and restart any hanging queues manually.
SMQ2 - qRFC Monitor for the inbound queue. You use this transaction to monitor the status of your LUWs in the inbound queue.
Thanks and regards,
