Delete Area Menu

Hi there,

I am trying to create a new transaction in SE93 i.e. Z1234

However, when I press the create button a message appears displaying that 'Z1234' is an area menu!

I then go into transaction SE43 to try and remove this area menu but when I enter 'Z1234' I get the message

back that this 'Z1234' does not exist !!!

Does anybody know how I can create the transaction Z1234 and remove the area menu with the same name ??

Any help much appreciated

Andy

Hi Andy,

- Go to transaction se91,

- enter the transaction name and press "where used list"

- tick "area menu" on following popup

than you'll find which area menu contains your transaction code.

Now go to transaction se43 with this area menu

and delete your transaction from this menu.

Hi mate,

Thanks for replying.

When I enter Z1234 and press the Where Used by, I click the area menu in the pop up

but nothing appears. !! This is what is so confusing. It keeps on saying that Z1234

is an area menu. But when I search for it, it doesn't exist eanywhere !!!!

What is your SAP release? What is the class and number of the error message? Is there an descriptive long text?

I cannot replicate this in 7.00, as I can create transactions with the same name as existing area menus here.
