Period Control settings

Hi All,

For companies maintaining year dependent fiscal year, I want to know the function of OA84 and how it is generated?

What else do we need to maintain every year with respect to period control?

You only need to maintain the period for each year in fiscal year variant defination.

The period control will get determined from that automatically.

No. Maintaining period controls in Asset accounting is different from maintaining the periods in fiscal year variants. I am asking about the maintanance and generation of period controls in Asset accounting when the comapnies maintain year dependant fiscal years.

my customers with this szenario maintain first the FY-depent fiscal year variants (a few years in advance if they are sure) and execute OA84 afterwards for each FY.

Not very smooth, but its working well...

When to run the OA84? i.e. before the fiscal year start or before the calendar year start?

And once generated through OA84, do we need to still maintain the period controls in OAVH?

Hi,

run OA84 when there are new entries for future year-depending FY-variants defined, no matter if its beginning of calendar year / fiscal year.

The selection field "from calender year" is only to create period control rules starting from that year up to the last year the FY-variant entries are available.

OA84 is to generate the period control rules automatically, so normally OAVH is not necessary.

But I suggest to check the OA84 entries using OAVH and in case of generation was not successful, maintain them manually in OAVH.
