Duplicate Business Partner Code when it exists in Chart of Accounts

Hi Experts,

This is the strangest thing. I try to add a BP with code '111137' and it complains that it already exists. When I search for it from the BP find screen I cannot find anything. I even looked through all the SQL tables.

Then I noticed that the same code has been used in my chart of accounts. True as bob, if I try and use a GL code as BP code it sees it as a duplicate.

Has anyone come across this. Any solutions. I'm running SBO 8.8 SP00 PL10

Hi Adrian......

It seems that some SP_Transnotification has been applied. Do you have?

If yes related to this then just drop your SP and then check.....

No Stored Proc's present.

But does sort of make sense if you think about it. On a journal entry you are able to choose a BP code. BP Code serves as sub ledger account.

Is that kept on Hold?

So that its giving error that its exist but not showing when trying to find out.

I guess you need to restore that BP.....

This is a system limitation. You cannot have a BP Code the same as a GL Code
