SD Number Ranges - Year Wise

Former Member

Dear Friends,

Please let me know is it possible & feasible to have SD number ranges year wise like we have in accounting documents.

We have configure this funcationality by changing the number range object to have year in one column.

But if number repeats as per year, how will it update the tables & can be visible in display transactions (VA03, VL03N & VF03)

Please revert

Regards,

Dhananjay

Definitely, you are going to land up into a major problem. All SD number ranges should only be continuous and the FI logic should not be followed here.

Though I dont have any practical experience, what I can stress is that in the ensuing year, system would generate a new number based on your coding but in tables like VBRK and VBRP, you can see previous years' data only. If you are able to succeed in this, I will only be too happy

thanks

Thanks Lakshmipathi,

Even we were not in favour of doing this, it is sure the problem will be in updating tables & then retriving them.

in the User Exit.

Generate new Range and fill this new range in one field..

Then just call function NUMBER_GET_NEXT to generate new one with subobject type the bukrs you want.

You can follow up the sales document form your new field, by year or bukrs.

You can also follow up documents like FI by BUKRS + GJAHR + Sales document, or any new combination you want to apply.

Hi,

If it is required we can maintain year wise Number ranges by using the Exit " USEREXIT_NUMBER_RANGE" include of MV45AFZZ might be you aware of it.

But if same repeats i need to check and we can expects this information from our forum friends let us wait.
