I am developing Crystal reports for a .NET application which uses the Crystal Reports 2008 runtime to generate the reports.
On my workstation I had the Crystal Reports 2008 runtime SP1 installed as well as the Crystal Reports 2008 Designer SP2. Everything worked well in that configuration. I could develop reports using the Designer and then test them in the application using the runtime.
Recently I installed the Crystal Reports 2008 runtime SP3 and I now have fatal errors when generating reports in the application. The first report always generates correctly, but any second report generates the following error : EXCEPTION ACCESS VIOLATION The thread tried to read from a virtual address for which it does not have the appropriate access. Attempt to read at: 0x260fb2d0.
My questions are :
1. Are the Crystal Reports Designer and the Crystal Reports Runtime using the same dll ?
2. Can I have both (Designer and Runtime) installed on the same machine or should it just be one or the other ?
3. Is there a known conflict between the Crystal Reports 2008 runtime SP3 and the Crystal Reports 2008 Designer SP2 ?
I'd like to figure out why everything worked well before and does not anymore with SP3. I must have all this clarified and tested successfully before I can distribute the new Crystal Reports 2008 runtime SP3 to all of our clients.
Thank you for your help.
