desr all gurus pls give me a idea on
1) if i want to create a seperate number range for different material type what to do
2) material comes under material type so should i maintain number range fo evry material?
HI,
Yes, you can create separate number ranges for different material types & you can use t.code: MMNR
You are going to maintain number range for material type only but not for every material.
.Material numbering may be external or internal & IN CASE OF INTERNAL NUMBERING, when you create material in MM01 t.code, system will proposed the material number in the range you defined for that material type
To maintain separate number ranges for different material types, you can search in SDN & you will have your answer.

then go to anro and put material number range object .
then click on maintain sysmbol and selct particular material type , co to insert here mainan number ranges for material type.
It can be external or internal.
