Business XI 3.0 to 3.1 upgrade : License

Hi Team,

We are using Business Objects XI 3.0 with enterprise license and would like to upgrade to BO XI 3.1 by uninstalling 3.0 and installing 3.1 from scratch.

Can we use the 3.0 Enterprise license key code for 3.1 as well?

A separate license is NOT required. XI 3.1 is essentially XI 3.0 + SP1.

Hello,

BOXI3.1 has lot many advancements as compared to BOXI3.0 and hence I am pretty sure that you need a separate license to use BOXI3.1

But still you can download the Temporary License for BOXI3.1 and once you have BOXI3.1 installed, you can check it by replacing the BOXI3.1's Temporary License with the one you use with BOXI3.0. To do this:

1. Go to BOXI3.1 CMC

2. Go to Licenses

3. Add the one you've used with BOXI3.0

4. Remove the Temporary BOXI3.1 License

5. Restart all the BOE Services from CMC >> Servers

6. License replacement is done, now check if everything is fine or not.

This way you can make sure that you need a new one or can use the Existing License.
