Hi,
How to configure C projects / cfolders with the help of user notes in older version of sap like 4.6C /4.7.
Thanks and Regards,
Suresh HP
Hi Suresh,
cProjects suite is a seperate component, independent of R/3. It can be installed in a seperate instance or in R/3 instance. The R/3 versions are relevant when you integrate cProejcts / cFolders with R/3. Hence as far as cProjects / cFolders is concerned only the integration aspect would differ with respect to R/3 version.
I had come across a scenario of account integrating cProjects with R/3 release 4.7. Please note the observations below :
Prerequisites:
To use this function, the following components are required:
i) SAP CRM 4.0 (including the cProjects Suite 3.00 / 4.0 / 4.5 Add-On and active CRM Middleware)
ii) SAP R/3 4.7 or SAP R/3 Enterprise (with Plug-In 2003.1).
iii) The cProjects Suite Add-On is implemented in the SAP CRM system.
Please consider the following before deciding :
1) For cost accounting purpose, cProjects is integrated with ERP accounting via :
i) CO (Internal Orders) or ii) PS (WBS elements)
2) The integration scenario of cProjects with PS (R/3 4.7) is rudimentary and requires a CRM middleware to integrate cProjects with PS (R/3 4.7).
3) The integration scenario of cProjects with PS (ECC 6.0) is a standard function & doesnu2019t require a CRM middleware interface. Also there are many enhancements in ECC 6.0.
4) SAP has stopped all the enhancements & developments for cProjects integration with PS (on R/3 4.7).
5) It is recommended that cProjects should be integrated with ECC 6.0 for PS integration or else use Internal Orders as Controlling objects in case of R/3 4.7.
You may explore further integration scenarios of cProjects / cFolders with the required R/3 release. Search the OSS notes & refer to SAP Help.
