Connect to message server host failed ---- service 'sapmsKEQ' unknown

hi gurus,

we are in the process of implementing ESS/MSS in our landscape. we installed a Development ECC 6.0 dual stack system (DEV) and configured the SLD locally during installation as per normal procedure. then, we installed the QA system with a dual stack and again locally configured the SLD with the intention that we would add the QA in the SLD located on the DEV system later on during the project.

When we opened the SLD on the DEV system, we could not see the ECC QA in the list. in the ECC QA visual admin, we configured the SLD data supplier with the hostname of DEV system and tried to trigger data transfer. the http and cimclient tests were successful and we were able to see the ECC QA Java instance in the SLD list.

the problem is that we are unable to register the ECC QA ABAP instance automatically in the SLD. following the guide, we created the ECC QA ABAP instance manually in the SLD but were unable to associate it with the automatically registered ECC QA Java instance. later, when we tried to test or ping the previously made JCo destinations, we got the following errors....

Failed to ping JCo destination 'SAP_R3_HumanResources

the SLD is running successfully. further, we have also checked the services and hosts files and all entries are correct.

please advise how to resolve this issue.
