Carry forward original batch entered in STO to Goods issue

Former Member

I am working in ECC 6.0 Environment. Batch management is active at plant level.

Now, while creation of STO, i entered batch no. But while creation Goods issue document by MIGO -> 351 Mvt. against that STO, original batch doen't carry forward. I have to enter batch no. again at time of issuance of material.

How can I carry forward original batch entered in STO automatically in MIGO (351)?

Hi Dhruv14,

I agree with Frank's reply and I just want to add one thing:

WIth the upcoming EHP5 (Enhancement Package 5) for ERP 6.0 there is a new concept planned for stock transfers/transit stocks. This new concept allows keeping the batch number in the in-transit stock and during GR.

Hello Dhruv14 ,

An issuing batch and a receiving batch are always involved in a stock transfer or transfer posting of a batch material. The issuing batch number is copied as the receiving batch number (except in the case of a plant-to-plant stock transfer in two

steps).

When you post a goods issue into "stock in transfer", the system does not keep the batch. This is a known limitation which can not be changed.

The movement type 351 will not pick up the batch in the stock transport order as that is the batch for the receiving plant , not the issuing plant. The 101 movement will use the batch set up in the stock transport order.

I am sorry that I do not have a better answer for you but the functionality you are experiencing is standard SAP system design.

I hope this information has been helpful in understanding your issue. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Thank you.

Best Regards,

Frank Farinella
