Applications on B.O Environment

Hi,

I´m very confuse with the deployment of the B.O applicationes on my environment.

Which are the applicationes to be installed on the server side? BOBJ Enterprise or BOBJ EDGE, both?

On the BOBJ Client side, which are the correct applicationes?

What is the correct steps, in order, to install the applicationes and the SP and FP?¿'

Hi Ruben,

Greetings! For a Client to be installed, you need BusinessObjects Enterprise (BOE) Server installation in some other machine.

BusinessObjects Enterprise Server and Client Installations comes alongwith a couple of common tools for Report Development purposes. Besides, you can also add other Reporting tools (which are separate installations), like Crystal Reports, Live Office, Xcelsius, etc.

Reason why the BusinessObjects Server installation has these Report Development tools is, in some scenarios people use only a single machine for BusinessObjects. In those installations the same machine acts as their server and the client as well.

There is NO such order for any BOE tools to be installed.

Business Objects Client Tools, Xcelsius, LiveOffice, Crystal Reports etc are Client products - Client side

Install BO Enterprise on Server Side

Install BO Enterprise Client on Client side (Only Windows is supported)
